Since I was young, my passion for agriculture and coffee was inspired by my father. I loved helping him with all the tasks on the farm, and from an early age, I knew I wanted to dedicate my life to coffee production. At the tender age of 13, I started getting involved in the cultivation process by making seedbeds and then planting my first coffee farm. It was an exciting and significant moment in my life.

As the years went by, I gained more knowledge and experience in the coffee industry. In 2015, I made an important decision to establish the Santa Teresa 2000 micro-mill, where I decided to process my own coffee. It was a bold and challenging step, but I knew it would be worth it.

As a coffee producer, I have always faced challenges, as is common in agriculture. However, the biggest challenge I have faced so far has been the pandemic. The global situation made every aspect of the process difficult, from preparing the plantations to marketing. Despite this, we remained resilient and sought creative solutions to adapt to the situation, ensuring the quality of our coffee and the sustainability of our operations.

The story behind my farm, Santa Teresa 2000, is special to me. Eleven years ago, I had the opportunity to acquire it. Originally, the farm belonged to my grandfather, who inherited it to his children. However, the children decided to sell it to an American, who later inherited it to his own children after his passing. It was at that moment that I saw an opportunity and bought the farm since the original owner's children lived in the United States and had no interest in continuing their coffee legacy.

What sets us apart as coffee producers are several factors. Firstly, we are located in the beautiful region of Tarrazú, a privileged place for coffee cultivation. Additionally, most of our plantations are in the highlands of Santa María de Dota, providing optimal conditions for growing high-quality coffee. We also work with exceptional coffee varieties and strive to maintain impeccable agronomic management. All of this translates into unique and special beans that we take pride in sharing with coffee lovers worldwide.

As a coffee producer, my core values and principles are order, respect, honesty, and solidarity. I recognize that our collaborators are the backbone of our operation, as they handle every stage of the process, from preparing the plantations to harvesting the cherries. Therefore, we provide them with fair compensation and dignified treatment. Our workers are always happy to be part of our team, as we value their contribution and well-being.

To improve the quality of life for our employees and support the local community, we have implemented special initiatives on our farm. In addition to providing stable employment and fair compensation, we also provide high-quality housing with all the necessary amenities. We care about their well-being and strive to create a safe and favorable work environment.

Furthermore, we are committed to the development and support of the local community. We have implemented special programs on our farm to provide training and education opportunities for our workers and their families. We also collaborate with community projects, such as improving local infrastructure, promoting education, and participating in environmental sustainability programs.

My long-term vision for my farm and my contribution to the coffee industry is solid. I see myself positioned in the global market, constantly growing and improving. I work hard every day to achieve this goal and am always learning and seeking ways to innovate and stand out in the industry.

I have a specific dream and goal in mind: I want my coffee beans to be recognized as some of the best in the world. I aspire to be known as a producer of high-quality coffee, setting standards in terms of flavor, sustainability, and social responsibility. I aim to be a reference for other producers and contribute to the growth and development of the coffee industry in my region and beyond.

In summary, my story as a coffee producer began in my childhood, inspired by my father and his dedication to agriculture. Throughout the years, I faced challenges and gained experience until I decided to establish my own micro-mill. My farm, Santa Teresa 2000, has a special and significant history, and we stand out for our location in Tarrazú and our commitment to quality agronomic practices. As a producer, my values and principles are reflected in how I work and how I treat my workers. My long-term vision is to be a reference in the coffee industry and contribute to the development and well-being of the local community.
