Finca Esmeralda is located in Coatepec, a municipality with a very long coffee-growing tradition in the state of Veracruz. The farm covers 10 hectares and its history dates back 15 years. Currently, the farm has coffee plants of the Geisha and Sarchimor varieties, with a density of 3,300 plants per hectare. The harvest of this lot took place between December 2023 and February 2024. The coffee is grown under shade in a montane cloud forest area. Montane cloud forests are of high biological importance due to the large number of species they possess. They are especially significant for capturing and controlling water flows, thereby contributing to human consumption needs. On the farm, predominant tree species include jinicuil, calahuite, and maracatinga. Rabbits are the most common population of wild fauna.
