I am a small coffee producer that has achieved a high position in regards to quality; the factors for this result are: the altitud, the variety of coffee, the careful management of the plants, the process of the coffee grains and dedication.
This land has belong to the Umaña family for over 150 años. In the past the land was use to produce vegetables, basic grains, fruits and there were different trees of precious wood. Later on my father became interested in cattle breeding and the grassland began to grow. Due to the insecurity in the country the land was abandoned for over 30 years. I returned to my country in 2012 with an environmentalist mentality. I wanted to reforest the land and improve the aquifer mantles. In 2013 the idea to plant coffee came to my mind and I began my own nursery starting with certified Pacamara seeds and now I dry the coffee beans in African beds.
With an average of three full time workers I manage this small coffee plantation with low production but good quality that has won a position in “Taza de Excelencia” in 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2024.
I am satisfied and happy to contribute with more O2 to the planet, more bird houses and more job opportunities for future generations.
I hope you enjoy this coffee as much as I do.
Yours sincerely,
