I am Walter Ricardo Bautista Leiva, 52 years old. Since 2007, I have been a coffee producer, but my passion for coffee began much earlier in my life when I worked as a cherry picker on a coffee farm as a child. It was during that time that my dream began to take shape: "One day, I'll own a coffee farm." At that point, it seemed like a distant dream. I became an administrator for a farm that my brother left when he migrated to the USA in search of the American dream. Later, in 2011, I managed to buy my own farm, named "Medalla Milagrosa," which is where the batch for COE came from. This is my second consecutive year participating in COE, and I find myself truly motivated to prove that my coffee deserves to be among the best in my country. Last year, I didn't make the cut, so I knew I needed to improve even more to finally reach a position in the international auction. I feel proud and excited to have achieved this milestone.
