Coffee is not just a way to ward off drowsiness. More than that, it is also part of various traditions and religious activities of the Balinese people. It started with my late grandfather and parents, who all worked as farmers in Belantih Village, Kintamani District, Bangli Regency. In the 1980s, the arrival of coffee in the region started with robusta. Then in the 1990s, arabica started to be introduced. In 1999-2000, the community began to receive attention from the agricultural department; training was held starting from seeding, processing, and picking. At that time, the community in Belantih started processing coffee properly according to standards. At that time, my family only sold their cherries to collectors without processing them. Dete Coffee was launched in 2020, when only processed from the plantation and did not buy from other farmers or collectives. Starting in 202, Dete Coffee began to strengthen its commitment to processing Arabica coffee because it can be seen from the potential that Kintamani coffee has good quality if it is processed properly according to specified standards. The presence of Dete Coffee aims to: 1. Increase the potential of Belantih Village so that it is known throughout Indonesia and even the world in the field of coffee cultivation, apart from citrus plants. 2. Its economic value can increase income for entrepreneurs and farming communities. 3. From Dete Coffee, I am committed to improving the welfare of coffee farmers in Belantih Village. 4. Dete Coffee is ready to facilitate farmers so that standard coffee prices do not fall like in the 2000s due to middleman games. That's a short story for those of us who are still learning about the world of coffee. Hopefully, goodness will come from all directions.
