I am so honored to be a part of the Nicaragua cup of excellence. My wife and I started our adventure in Nicaragua in 2009 traveling back and forth and falling in love with this beautiful country and her people. We purchased our finca in December of 2017. It was a beautiful piece of land with some neglected coffee plants. We set out to grow the best coffee we could and after some consulting planted Java, Red and Yellow Catuai and Maracaturra. The elevations on the farm range from 950 meters to over 1300. We have a total of 110 manzanas and have left 40 manzanas for a nature preserve. Although we are not certified organic, we use as many natural inputs as possible.
When we bought the finca, we determined to give back to the community as much as possible. As such we have provided materials for new homes, donated to the local church, provided new roofing material for families and are currently working on funding a permanent clean water source for the community. Our farm manager has over 30 years experience and has been a wonderful source of advice. Our specialty coffees are pre-dried on African beds in a greenhouse on the premises and then transported to the dry mill where they continue the drying and processing. We have an active recycling program to reuse many of the waste products.
To conclude, we love growing our coffee and our hope is that you enjoy it as much as we love producing it.
