Our story begins in 1965 along the properties part of the Cordillera Dipilto and Jalapa Natural Reserve. It was where my father-in-law purchased ̈El Recuerdo ̈ located in Dipilto Viejo with an altitude from 1000 to 1100 masl and a farm area of 11.3 ha; and began planting coffee, offering coffee beans around the world, where the vast majority was Caturra variety. Currently, the farm produces the following varieties Caturra, Red and Yellow Catuai, and Parainema.

My father-in-law inherited his passion for coffee, and seven years later, the current management is headed by Norma Flores (myself). Working in the field as a woman has been the most fulfilling yet challenging venture I have experienced in my life. Nevertheless, from then on, I was committed to the practice of solid agricultural processes executed with the diligence of the workers and environmental initiatives for the suitable production of coffee beans which have led me to the development of new production techniques that go hand in hand with the care of the environment. El Recuerdo has a biodiverse environment grown under a diverse forest canopy inspired by shade-grown coffee, which decreases the use of fertilizers, and provides the coffee tree with additional nutrients. I could not feel prouder of sharing our coffee with the world, which was harvested with love and tradition and continue mastering the processes and good practices to improve the quality in the future years.
