These lands were acquired in 1990 since we had ample experience in coffee production because our father worked for 40 years in this field. The land was clean and we slowly started planting different small coffee plantations during several years until 1995. Our coffee variety is caturra. At the same time we started to build a wet mill that is powered by a Lister motor that has worked for over 50 years. The original house is wooden and had to be rebuilt. Our workers are humble people that live near the farm; some of them have worked over eight years with us. We have continued to plant trees, and now we have many fruit and timber yielding trees. We also have varied fauna including many birds like chichiltotes, chocollos, sargentos, guardabarrancos, etc. A small water course runs through our farm. We are building a new wet mill to improve our wet milling process and continue improving our coffee quality. An agronomist, who is also a producer, provides us technical assistance.
The farm's name "Andaluza" is derived from the spanish province "Andalucía", that means colors and happiness.
